This article is a review of 4 iPhone car mounts. There are a large variety of iPhone car mounts on the market. It can be difficult to know which one to choose and which ones are the best. The 4 car mounts in this review offer a variety of options with positives and negatives for each. Here are the reviews starting with the best one first:
1. iOttie Easy One Touch 3 – Review Score: 10/10
iOttie continually puts out some of the best dashboard car mounts for smartphones. This one is the best one I have seen. I would highly recommend it. It is super easy to install and has incredible versatility.
Positives: There are so many positives about this iPhone car mount. First off, it will fit most any smartphone you throw at it including the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and iPhone SE. It also has a unique feature where you can insert and release you iPhone with just one hand. There are 2 levers on either side of the mount that you push in to open the grips and then when you set your iPhone into the holder, the grips are released and grab the iPhone holding it securely in place. Pushing the 2 levers again releases the iPhone when you are ready to take it out of the holder. This dashboard car mount is also versatile in where it can be mounted. It can be mounted on your dashboard (even if the surface is not completely flat) or the windshield. Once installed, this iPhone car mount has lots of configurations to get the perfect rotation and angle needed for optimal viewing while you are driving. The mount can rotate 360 degrees so you can easily switch your iPhone from portrait to landscape. There is a twist release to allow the mount to be raised or lowered. Then, there is another twist release that controls an extension arm to bring the iPhone even closer to you for easier viewing access. There is a special sticky suction cup that grabs and holds most surfaces. By far, this is the best iPhone dashboard and windshield car mount that I have seen. I would highly recommend it.
Negatives: None that I found.

2. Ipow CD Slot Smartphone Car Mount – Review Score: 8/10
This is by far the most interesting car mount that I am reviewing. I bought it to do a review on it because I am currently driving a car with a CD slot and thought that this could be a good fit. It has worked great. This iPhone car mount uses the CD slot in your car as the anchor. It is very easy to install and does not require any tools.
Positives: This iPhone car mount is well built. It feels sturdy and includes a variety of adapters to fit various stock CD players. Installation is simple and takes less than a minute with no tools required. The spring loaded iPhone holder can hold a variety of smartphones including the iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 5c, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, and 6s Plus (can also hold other branded smartphones in addition to iPhones). There are soft rubber pads that grip the iPhone and protect it at the same time. The iPhone holder can be rotated 360 degrees and tilted up/down and side to side to give the best possible viewing angle in landscape or portrait. The cool thing about this iPhone car mount is that you can still use the CD player even with an iPhone in the holder. If your car has a CD slot, this is one of the best options for an iPhone car mount if you have a CD slot in your car.
Negatives: There are two minor negatives to this iPhone car mount. The first is that you are limited to one location to mount your iPhone – the CD slot. In some cases, this may not be the ideal location to have your iPhone mounted while driving. Secondly, if you frequently use CDs, then this iPhone holder makes adds a few extra steps to the process of switching out a CD.

3. iOttie Easy View 2 Car Mount Holder – Review Score 7/10
This car mount holder is also an excellent option. I have previously postively reviewed the original version of the iOttie Easy View car mount holder and I personally used it in my car for several years. Check out the original review here: Perfect Car Dashboard and Window Mount Holder for iPhone. Now, here is the review of the Easy View 2 Car Mount Holder:
Positives: This car mount holder is very easy to install and use. It suctions to any flat surface on your dashboard or windshield. The suction cup is also sticky giving it extra hold yet still being easy to remove and leaving no residue. It is very easy to insert and remove an iPhone from this holder and the soft rubber pads help to hold the iPhone in place and also protect it. This car mount holder can swivel 360 degrees and tilt up/down and side to side. You can also order it in 4 different colors: Black, White, Red, and Mint.
Negatives: The arm on the holder is not very long. This can be a problem in certain cases where you want to attach it to a windshield that is further away from the steering wheel. The other negative is that the holder does not stick to a curved dashboard surface. This may be an issue for some vehicles depending on where you want to mount the iPhone holder.

4. Long Arm Universal Car Mount Holder – Review Score 2/10
I ordered this iPhone car mount holder because it had the long arm feature. I wanted a good windshield option that made my iPhone more visible while driving. This car mount holder receives a lower score for a couple of different reasons – the biggest being that it does not have the sticky feature included with the suction cup. Here is the review:
Positives: The long arm is very useful in bringing the iPhone closer making it more accessible. This car mount holder also features a 360 degree swivel as well as tilt up and down and side to side. The clamp is padded with soft rubber and can accommodate most smartphones including the larger iPhone 6s Plus. The arm is stiff enough so as not to bend when the iPhone is mounted in the holder.
Negatives: Unfortunately, the suction cup on this car mount holder does not work very well for a heavier device like the larger iPhone 6 Plus. I found that it would lose suction after awhile because of the weight of the iPhone as well as the leverage of the long arm. In addition, the clamp is a little awkward to open and close making it more difficult to put the iPhone in and take it out. For these reasons, I have rated this car mount holder a 2/10 although it might work well for smaller iPhones.
